Franksplaces website serves as a platform to showcase our diverse portfolio of accommodations. Our journey commenced 23 years ago in 1999 with the inception of Waterfront Backpackers, catering primarily to backpackers and tourists. Over time, our venture has evolved into the esteemed brand Franksplaces, specializing in medium to long-term accommodations for interns, local and international students, working professionals, and discerning long-stay visitors. Presently, we are highlighting our properties in Greenpoint and Observatory, with ongoing upgrades to enhance our offerings.
YOUR HOSTS
Maria and I, both Cape Town natives with a lifelong commitment to hospitality, have collectively hosted guests in this vibrant city for over two decades. Following a fulfilling 32-year career in Telecommunications, I now find joy in connecting with diverse individuals from around the globe. Our extensive travels across Europe and America, coupled with our rich Portuguese heritage and profound knowledge of Cape Town and its environs, empower us to extend warm and gracious hospitality to our esteemed guests and tenants.
MEET THE TEAM
Rashied (Poen) joined our team approximately a decade ago, complemented by the invaluable contributions of Fagrie, Kaylum, and numerous other dedicated staff members over the years. Through collaborative efforts, we have continually elevated the standard of our accommodations. Despite facing unprecedented challenges, notably the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, we embrace a forward-thinking approach encapsulated by our motto, “Never Look Back,” as depicted in the accompanying photos.
